  • NASHDA Shed Dog Event Results- September 7th, 2014 West Allis, Wisconsin

Well, the first NASHDA (North American Shed Hunting Dog Association) event at the historic West Allis Kennel Club in West Allis WI went off in premium fashion September 7th, 2014.  This certainly is not the clubs first rodeo at throwing dog events, the club has been holding it’s annual September Jamboree for over 60 years, so you can say they are good at this kind of thing!

    West Allis Kenne Club- Wisconsin

This was the first year that the jamboree hosted the shed dog NASHDA event and it was very successful by all accounts. They had 12 dogs register for the event prior to the event and the morning of September 7th.  Of those 12 dogs, 9 of them were successful in passing all the requirements to receive a ribbon and be eligible to attend the shed dog world championships in Northfield MN April 19-20, 2014.  On behalf of EverythingShedDog.com, congratulation to all that participated and qualified.

What a day they had.  The youngest shed dog handler of the day was 10 year old Colin Bollman with Guage. How cool when you start seeing kids and the younger generation getting into this sport, this is very encouraging!

Two most well know personalities in the outdoor world Lee and Tiffany Lakosky, Hosts of “The Crush TV Show” are going to be at the show speaking.  They have long been addicted to the this popularly growing sport and have been great for the growth and popularity of shed dog hunting.  They have even participated in past years events, which has brought additional notoriety to the sport and helped it to grow.

We are also proud of to be associated with Mr. Jeremy Moore and Dog Bone Shed Training Products, which will be doing training seminars and speaking at the show.  Jeremy is a great guy that loves to train shed dogs (and is dang good at it may we add) and makes some amazing shed dog training products as well.  Jeremy will also be hosting  “Hunters TV” dog "headhunter Sadie" all 3 days.  There will also be an outside area Dog Bone sponsored all 3 days for kids to do a shed hunting and check out some cute brand new puppies (seriously who does not like puppies).

  • 2014 NASHDA Qualifying Event Hunt Test Rules

    NASHDA Hunt Test Rules

North America Shed Hunting Dog Association (NASHDA)

2014 Qualifying Event/ Junior Shed Dog Hunt Test Rules

In Qualifying Events, Dogs will compete against a standard to receive a ribbon, not each other.

NASHDA’s goal is to create a fun event for those looking to use their dogs to find shed antlers. Our Qualifying Events run from May 1st to the season ending World Shed Dog Championship in April.

Qualifying events will be set during the season to give dogs a chance to Qualify for that season ending NASHDA World Shed Dog Championship. In qualifying events, the dogs will compete against a standard and not each other to receive a Qualifying ribbon. Once a dog receives a Qualifying ribbon they will be invited to enter the World Shed Dog Championship at the end of that season. The season starts over again each May 1st.

Qualifying events may also be listed as a Shed Dog Hunt test. For the hunt test, the dogs compete against the Qualifying standard and not each other. Dogs that Qualify at an event marked a NASHDA Shed Dog Hunt Test will earn a NASHDA Shed Hunting Dog Junior leg/ribbon. Once a dog receives 6 leg/ribbons they will receive a NASHDA Junior Shed Hunting Dog certificate. Leg ribbons can be accumulated over multiple seasons. Junior in the NASHDA hunt test division is a description of course difficulty, not age of the dog.

  • Chillin At NASHDA- Behind the Scense 2013 Shed Dog Trials

One of the neatest aspects about the NASHDA (North American Shed Hunting Dog Association) events is the feeling that the competitors and attendees are there to help one another out and cheer each and their dogs on in the field work and the sidelines.  It is different from many other sporting events I have been to.  There is just a sense of community and willingness to build each other and their dogs up, instead of tear each other down.  I would say this is fairly common in the dog training and trial world but it seems even more present here!  What can I say Shed doggers rock and EverythingShedDog.com is proud to be apart of the shed antler dog training and trial community.
